This wedding program on a blackboard was probably my favorite sign for her wedding, because not only did I get to create some fun Hand Typography, but I got to add in some hand-drawn floral accents to tie the piece in with the rest of the wedding decor. These are my favorite sort of projects, where I know the person who will receive the gift and the person who commissioned it, so I can create the piece around the collective personalities and preferences of the beautiful people invovled. The mural was designed to capture everything that encompasses living in the wonderful little town of Sisters Oregon. Everyone in the mural are local residents.

We were driving home past Indian Ford Ranch in Sisters and I happened to glance out the window. What I saw took my breath away. "Jason, Jason! Slow down...I have to capture this!" My phone camera was pathetic, so I decided to draw the moment as it really was: The sky exploding in golds, pinks and purples. The mountains being kissed good-night by the setting sun. The pond reflecting back to the sky. The peace of the evening settling on the valley. In moments like this, I am reminded how blessed I am that God planted me here in these mountains.

Early morning in the middle of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park. Sitting in a tiny boat in the middle of that glassy lake with the peaks towering above me and the reflection of them stretching out all around me...I have never felt so small. Life is so short when compared to the ages that these mountains have witnessed. Don't waste it!
